

Guinness you ask?! You won’t regret it! Gives this dish a wonderfully meaty depth.

Step 1
Add the olive oil to the pan then brown the mince on a medium heat.

Add 250ml Guinness, 50g of dark chocolate, 2 beef stock cubes and a dash of salt and pepper to the mince then continue to cook on a medium heat for about 15 minutes.

For this step we will be using a blender. Add the tinned tomatoes, peeled garlic and skinned, sliced onions to the blender. Blend until smooth.

Add the blended mixture to the mince. Add 3 bay leaves and 1 table spoon of dried Basil. Reduce to a low heat and cook for about 55 minutes stirring regularly.

Step 5
Add water and a tbsp of olive oil to a pot then bring to the boil. Add spaghetti and cook for about 15 minutes until al dente. Remove and strain the spaghetti.

Step 6
Serve the Bolognese on a bed of spaghetti and add cheese if you wish. Enjoy!
